Every once in awhile, some event comes along that transcends political differences. We put aside our ideologies, dial back the rhetoric, and celebrate around a common cause.
Today, the USA's first dog Bo enjoys his first birthday in the White House! I know he'll get a lot of attention from Sasha and Melia, and hopefully the White House chef will prepare a special treat to mark the day.
Sure, there may be a little rivalry between 'dog people' and 'cat people'. But Sundance and I believe that most all dog people are good, no matter who they vote for.
So join us in a shout out to Bo. And you know ... maybe if more people had dogs, we could achieve world peace.

Hi Kate - That's a photo of Bo, a Portuguese water dog. Sundance is a Sheltie who I adopted a little over 9 1/2 years ago.

Hi Debbie - Surprisingly there is very little coverage of Bo's day, but I'd bet that Sasha and Malia made sure that he got some great treats!

We have two cats and I'm convinced there will never be World Peace. Yet, I'm equally believing there's an inner peace that they give us and we give them along the way.

I'm a cat person but I have to tell you, Bo is adorable! I would adopt him in a second. Please don't let my 3 cats read this. I might have a war on my hands.
Jason - The eyes are in there somewhere! Good point about the inner peace that our pets bring us. Maybe if we just focused on the basics like they do we'd have a lot less stress and a lot more fun.
Nicholas - And part of the credit for that decision has to go to his daughters. :) Overall I think it was a choice well made.
Irene - Just in case your cats log on while you're on an appointment, I think Bo knows someone who could help you negotiate peace!
They do add a dimension to our lives... no matter what side of the fence you're on.
I have two Cairn Terriers and they are my babies, my constant companions and they bring much love and inner peace. Funny thing is I think they know it?

If more people had pets, not just dogs, and listened to good music rather than violent rap and hip-hop, and weren't brainwashed by the various religions, we just might have world peace.
