Teri Isner first to 100,000 points on ActiveRain

Teri IsnerCongratulations to Teri Isner, a Keller Williams agent from Orlando, FL for being the first on ActiveRain to reach the 100,000 point level! Teri did it with over 300 blog entries, over 1600 comments, and by inviting 37 other members to ActiveRain. Teri also helped organize the ActiveRain meeting at NAR in New Orleans next month.

Along the way Teri has shared many tips and content ideas from her website, www.OrlandoAvenue.com and given us some great insight on real estate in the Caribbean. She is the co-author with Ken DeShaies of the Central Florida Edition of How to Make Your REALTOR® Get You the Best Deal. Teri is also involved with KW Cares.

Looking for an example of a FSBO direct mail campaign? Check Teri's blogs on her FSBO 8x8 program (part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5). She has also blogged about farming, a great neighborhood yard sale strategy, and published her team's customer service evaluation.

Teri loves to share new tools and tricks. Entries about the DISC profile, Picasa, Skype, AddBranding, new items from the CRS Store, and more can be found in Teri's blog. And then there's the story of over 200 new listings.

Congratulations, Teri, on your success both in and out of the Rain. You are very deserving of everything you've earned. Now you can relax while the rest of us catch up, or maybe turn your attention to your '100 Things to Do' list. Great work!

Blogging continues strong growth

Yesterday's Chicago Tribune had a story about blogging, written by Steve Johnson, with some interesting statistics:

  • 175,000 new blogs are created each day (Technorati)
  • Of the 57 million blogs that Technorati watches, one in eight add new content weekly.
  • The primary topics for blogs are "my life and experiences" (37%) and politics (11%) (Pew Internet project - www.pewinternet.org)
  • 12 million American adults have blogs; 57 million read them. (Pew Internet)

The story also mentions that SixApart (the company that brought us LiveJournal, Movable Type and TypePad) is introducing Vox.com, a new friends and family-oriented blog tool. Vox.com will integrate with YouTube, Flickr, Photobucket, and Amazon as well as audio and video options. It also lets bloggers set different levels of privacy such as friends only, family only, or public.

For us to grow as bloggers it's helpful to step out of the Rain once in awhile and take a look at the blogosphere from a different perspective. Technorati, Pew Internet, and Vox.com provide three views that can help us understand how blogs are being used and how we can improve our own content.
